The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service announces an opportunity on the Superior National Forest for the removal of existing wooden stairways at Flying to Gotter Lake Portage and two wooden stairways at Duncan to Rose Portage in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). Construct new stone stairways using wilderness techniques which does not allow any power tools or generators. All work must be completed using hand tools only and available rocks. Contractors are required to be actively registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov in order to be considered for award. The SAM registration is free. Contractors are required to be registered in SAM at the time a quotation is submitted in order to comply with the annual representations and certifications requirements. The solicitation is posted to this www.SAM.gov announcement and no hard copies of the solicitation, supporting documents and applicable amendments, if any, will be provided.
