Sole Source-Genotyping Tropical Derived Corn Lines

Notice ID:12444726Q0077

The USDA intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Mol Breeding Biotechnology LLC for targeted sequencing and genotyping of tropical-derived corn lines under the Germplasm Enhancement of Maize (GEM) Project. The work involves probe-based target enrichment, kernel chipping, DNA extraction, library preparation, high-quality sequencing, and bioinformatics analysis using proprietary SNP panels (approximately 45,000 primary and 10,000 secondary SNPs) to maintain continuity with existing GEM datasets. The government believes only this vendor can meet the requirement due to its specialized, germplasm-validated tools and integrated workflows within a 180-day performance period. Capability statements from other vendors will be reviewed solely to determine if a competitive procurement is feasible. The contracting officer will decide whether to compete the requirement, and no reimbursement will be provided for submitting capability information.
