The proposed contract is to secure labor and equipment necessary to complete shrub cutting/reduction of 179 acres of sub-merchantable trees within the Northwest Sands project area of the Washburn Ranger District, Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Bayfield County, Wisconsin. Sub-merchantable tree and shrub cutting/reduction will consist of cutting target vegetation with brush saws and/or chainsaws during appropriate dry soil conditions, with the desire to kill unwanted sub-merchantable tree and shrub species (aspen, oak, birch, hazelnut, willow and maple).
