The Timber Crane Mats will hav... This solicitation is for the purchase and delivery of Timber Crane Mats for Hiawatha National Forest. Two separate requirements are being combined into one solicitation. The Timber Crane Mats will have slightly different specifications, different quantities, and different delivery addresses within Hiawatha National Forest. Contractors are able to quote on both items or just one. This solicitation will include two separate Specifications, and Two Schedule of Items. 1. East Zone Timber Sale Admin Crane Mats The delivery address for the first item is 9200 S Ranger Rd, Brimley, Michigan 49715. Purchase and deliver ground protection mats suitable for heavy equipment to be hauled across for multiple months at a time in various weather conditions. The mats should be able to be laid out on uneven and rocky terrain and provide adequate protection to the surface below to minimize resource damage and rutting. They should be produced using multiple layers in an alternating pattern stacked on top of each other to produce an approximately 4-inch-thick mat and bolted together at various points to secure the tire tread adequately to the layers above and below. The finished product should be 5-feet wide by 12-feet long and 4-inches-thick on all sides. 2. West Zone Timber Sale Admin Crane Mats The delivery address for the second item is the Haymeadow Gravel Pit: From the intersection of FR2234 (CO. RD. 509) and US Highway 2 travel Southeast along FF2234 0.6 miles, turn left to continue along FR2234 (CO. RD. 509), continue North for 6.5 miles to intersection of FR2010, turn left on FR2010 and travel West along FR2010 for 0.9 miles to destination of Haymeadow gravel pit. Purchase and delivery of timber crane mats to Haymeadow Gravel Pit. Mats should be solid timber mats, 12” thick by 4’ Wide by 16’ Long, with a steel rod reinforcement. Material will be constructed of hardwood.
