The solicitation may be posted on or after 08/23/2023. THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE ONLY. SCOPE OF CONTRACT Established in 1954, the Northern Rockies Fire Cache located near the Missoula Airport, supplies federal, state, tribal, and local government agencies within the Northern Rockies Geographical Area, an area that encompasses 235,600 square miles. The Cache is capable of immediately supplying up to 5,000 firefighters and more than 30 major wildland fires. To increase efficiency, fire cache warehouse #3, that is currently located at the Regional Field Service Facility at 14th and Catlin, is to be disassembled, moved, and then reassembled at the Northern Rockies Fire Cache. This project will include but is not limited to a new foundation, new mechanical systems, new roof, and new lighting. PROJECT LOCATION The project is in Missoula, Montana. The new warehouse location is adjacent to Missoula, Montana Airport near Interstate-90 off of Broadway. The warehouse existing location is in Missoula, Montana at 14th & Catlin streets. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT Price range in accordance with FAR Part 36.204(d): Between $500,000 and $1,000,000. START WORK /PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE Work on the project shall commence no earlier than 09/30/2023, once the Notice to Proceed has been received, and proceed in accordance with the contractor’s approved work schedule and run continuously till the end of the project 365 days once the Notice to Proceed has been received. Estimated workdays to complete project are 120-150 days. Sitework, earthwork, and foundation work at the Aerial Fire Depot may begin upon Notice to Proceed. Dismantling of Warehouse 3, however, may not begin until 1 April 2024 due to operational constraints of the Northern Rockies Cache, which the warehouse serves.
