Pre-Solicitation Notice Description of Work: This project consists of constructing 1808 feet of ADA compliant accessible trail in the Murphy Creek area west of Superior, MT, and along Road #69. Work i... Pre-Solicitation Notice Description of Work: This project consists of constructing 1808 feet of ADA compliant accessible trail in the Murphy Creek area west of Superior, MT, and along Road #69. Work includes excavation, placement and compaction of aggregate base course gravel placement, and optional item of asphalt paving to standard specifications. The width of the optional paved surface will be 6 feet, with a trail bed of compacted aggregate base course of 8 feet wide, to a depth of 6 inches (compacted) as shown on the drawings. The trail location traverses through a recently logged area and will require minimal clearing. Excavation will require grubbing or grinding stumps along the route. Sideslopes of tread construction are predominantly level to 10%, although one section approximately 300 feet long will require full bench construction to trailway width as shown on the drawings. Four picnic table pads (15’ x 15’) will be constructed to the same depth and specifications as the trail tread. Locations of the pads shall be staked by the engineer. The contractor will be responsible for disposing of all waste material including stumps. The Contractor shall furnish all the labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals to perform work under this contract. PROJECT LOCATION Construction of Trail #736 begins at the parking area junction with Southside Road #69 and Road #7857, approximately 4 miles west of Superior, MT (See Vicinity Map). Road #7857 is designated as permanently closed for vehicle traffic (“A” closure on the Lolo NF Travel Plan map). MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT Estimated Price Range: $25,000 to $100,000 SITE VISIT No site visit is planned.
