The intent of this project is to remove and replace approximately 9.6 miles of existing barbwire fence line, and install approximately 1.98 miles of new fenceline within the Duck Creek Basin on the El... The intent of this project is to remove and replace approximately 9.6 miles of existing barbwire fence line, and install approximately 1.98 miles of new fenceline within the Duck Creek Basin on the Ely Ranger District. This project includes the removal of approximately 50,686 feet of existing barbwire fence as a lump sum. Approximately 61,153 feet of new barbwire fence are to be installed including an estimated eleven 12-foot wire gates. All brace and anchor posts are to be schedule-40, galvanized steel except for wood posts located at the wire gates. Clearing of vegetation is allowed as needed to ensure a straight fence, however heavy equipment will not be allowed to clear the fencelines. Chainsaws are allowed for vegetation clearing. Fence runs should not deviate more than 12-inches from a straight line between braces. The Schedule A work includes removing and replacing barbwire fences in locations A and C, and adding a new barbwire fence to location D. The Option A work includes removing and replacing barbwire fence in location B. Work shall be performed in accordance with specifications and drawings in the plan sheets, followed by the ‘Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects (FP-14).’
