This project includes the repair of both abutments of Continental Reservoir Bridge as indicated on the plans, specifications, and the following requirements. This work includes the excavation of both abutments, bringing abutment backwalls back to plumb, creating an underdrainage structure within the backfill of each abutment, adding dead-men timbers to both abutments and all four wingwalls. The bridge shall be reset to its original orientation. Work also includes armoring the bridge abutment backwalls, wingwalls, and banks with riprap, the addition of four Type 2 Object Markers, and the removal and disposal of non-compliant approach railings and work as indicated in the drawings and specifications. Upon completion of construction, the bridge shall be reset such that the final location of the bridge maintains the initial location of the bridge. Optional work that may be awarded includes the replacement of any unacceptable fill material subject to approval by CO and the replacement of any decayed/rotten structural timber members making up the abutment walls and wingwalls subject to approval by the CO. The bridge is approximately 20 feet long and 16 feet wide and spans North Clear Creek and sits on a hairpin turn. PROJECT LOCATION From the town of South Fork, head west on CO-149 N for 18.3 miles, then turn left onto Deep Creek Road for 1.8 miles then continue straight onto County Road 806 for 1.2 miles, then turn left onto CO-149 North for 25.2 miles, then turn left onto Forest Service Road 513 for 1.7 miles, then turn left onto Forest Service Road 513.1A for 1.7 miles. The bridge location is on a hairpin turn below Continental Reservoir. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT The estimated price range of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
