This is a NOTICE OF INTENT to issue a SOLE SOURCE award to East Fork Fire Protection District for the lease of Fire Station 10. The current lease provided to the Forest Service at Fire Station 15 is with East Fork Fire Protection District. Due to renovating Fire Station 15 on Jack's Valley Road in order to accommodate the relocation of the Fuels and Fire Crew, means that the crew has to vacate this location before the end of September 2022. Station 10 has been offered, that is located within the Ruhenstroth develpment at 208 Pinto Circle, Gardnerville, Nevada 89460 that will be able to cause the least amount of disruption to the operations during the fire season. Within the response area there is no other suitable facility to locate a Wildland Fire Crew with Engines. The intent is to procure these services on a sole source basis. The authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901. This statute is implemented by for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). No solicitation will be posted to Contract Opportunities.
