This contract will fulfill data collection needs for 2021 on the Mountain Home Ranger District of the Boise National Forest. Data will be collected in the Boise Ridge project area, approximately 16 miles North of Boise, ID. The contract will include one optional year of work, extending into 2022. Data collection includes simplified forest inventory methods on a series of fixed-area plots. These plots will help facilitate informed prescription writing and overall implementation of upcoming commercial timber sales. The data collection protocol for this exam has been simplified to include only the most necessary stand exam information needed for project implementation; this protocol is further described throughout the contract itself. Data from two sale areas is required for the year 2021, with two additional sale areas listed as optional areas for 2022. The base item includes 1,122 "Quick Plots", and the optional year of work includes an additional 261 plots for 2022. All plots will follow the same, simplified data collection protocol as outlined in the contract. All data will be entered electronically by a contractor in the "Exams" software provided by the USFS. Data will be turned in in a digital format, in .cse files used by this program.
