This requirement is for refrigeration trailers to store and cool approximately 45,000 seedlings during the FY24 Pike spring planting project. In order to maintain seedling viability, prevent mold, cull, and mortality, seedlings must be refrigerated to maintain a temperature of approximately 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to the number of seedlings and sensitive need for the seedlings to remain cooled, three trailers will be needed for this project. Two trailers will be utilized for storing seedlings, and one will be used as a backup trailer, only used if one of the primary trailers fails. The contract includes trailer delivery, pickup, and any necessary repairs.
