The Columbine Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest manages many recreation sites that provide toilet facilities for the public. These recreation sites are located at Vallecito and Lemon Reservoirs, La Plata Canyon, Hermosa Area and along the US HWY 550 corridor to South Mineral Creek located north of Silverton, Colorado and at several other locations. These sites are not in fee campgrounds. Terrain features are mountainous, travel over passes on state highways and graveled forest service roads.
