The Pagosa Springs Ranger District of the USDA Forest Service San Juan National Forest is seeking to replace their UTV with a newer UTV for fire suppression, prescribed fire, fuels project work including skidding logs from thinning projects and general project work. Machine will frequently be operated off existing roads to support fire operations. UTV must be four-wheel drive (4WD) with power steering, capable of carrying 2-3 firefighters and their associated gear, including tools, chainsaw and saw fuel. A shaft direct drive system is required for safety and reliability when operating off-road with heavy loads and towing a trailer or log skidding arch.
