General Description Furnish all bridge components for longitudinal glued?laminated, treated timber slab bridges using structural lumber and timber of the required stress and grade. The furnished structure shall meet the following requirements: Design Load HS20?44 with allowable deflection of L/425. Useable Width 10’?0” Minimum (inside curb face to inside curb face) Span Length 19’?0” Centerline Bearing to Centerline Bearing 1. The superstructure shall consist of six (6), longitudinal, glued laminated panel components. 2. The structure shall be furnished with glued laminated timber sills capable of supporting the superstructure on native or minimally improved ground. Sills shall be designed to support the structure and loads with a maximum soil bearing pressure of 3000 psf. Sills shall be a minimum of 6in. depth by 12in. wide and 12ft. long. 3. All angles and hardware necessary for slab to sill connection shall be provided by supplier. 4. Glulam curb and curb blocks shall be a total of 22in. from the top of the curb to the top of the glulam deck. The curbs (2) should be 10 ¾ in. x 6in. (T) x 20ft. (L) and the curb blocks (8) should be 10 ¾ in. x 16in. (T) x 2ft. 4in. (L). 5. Panel stiffeners shall be designed by the manufacturer. 6. All glued laminated timber components shall be pre?cut and pre?bored.
