Scope of Work This contract requires geotechnical drilling firms to perform comprehensive and safe geotechnical drilling services for the US Forest Service. The Contractor shall provide qualified labor, supervision, transportation, equipment, drill rig, hoses, pumps and any necessary equipment and supplies to perform core drilling, hollow stem augering, Standard Penetration Testing and minor laboratory services. Drilling services are to include all mobilization, moving, setting up, traffic control for the immediate work site (typically warning signs and cones), loading, patching holes in roadway/shoulder, providing samples and core for logging at the site by the Forest Service, and providing containers for core and auger samples. Standard Penetration Testing shall be performed as directed (typically at 5 foot intervals or a change in material strength). HQ or NQ core drilling may be required below the SPT refusal depth for a maximum of 10 feet into bedrock. A minimum of 70% core recovery is required. Depth of exploration to be 35’ below existing streambed or until through 10 feet of bedrock.
