The intent of this solicitation is to acquire fire lookout services on the Umpqua National Forest at the following 4 sites: Cinnamon Butte Lookout is located approximately 19 miles east of the Toketee Ranger Station (Diamond Lake Ranger District Office), 8 miles north east of Diamond Lake Resort and 78 miles east of Roseburg, Oregon. Fairview Lookout is located approximately 42 miles east of the City of Cottage Grove, and 37 miles east of Cottage Grove Ranger Station/Dorena Genetic Research Center offices. Pickett Butte Lookout is located approximately 10 road miles northeast of the Tiller Ranger Station (Tiller Ranger District Office) and 68 road miles southeast of Roseburg, Oregon. Pig Iron Lookout is located approximately 2 miles east of Toketee Ranger Station (Diamond Lake Ranger District Office), 12 miles northwest of Diamond Lake Resort and 64 miles east of Roseburg, Oregon. Up to four contract awards are anticipated. Each contract will include a base period and 4 optional periods for the following years. Each year, work will start around June and end in October (approximately 120 days each year). Preference will be given to those candidates with good fire lookout experience. However, experience is not required, and training may be available for those individuals with no fire lookout experience. We anticipate having to train some folks. Note: prospective awardees MUST be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be awarded a Federal Government Contract.
