THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT MARCH 8, 2022. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project at the Wrangell Ranger District Office includes the following work: Demolition and removal of existing oil-fired boiler, chimney, expansion tank, pumps, piping, heating units, valves, controls, fuel oil tank, fuel oil piping, supports, and containments, and electrical service panelboard and branch circuiting, Patching and repair of walls, ceiling, floors, and roof where existing heating system is removed, Provision of five multi-zone heat pump systems consisting of outdoor units, foundation for outdoor units, indoor units, refrigerant piping, condensate piping, controls, and chases for refrigerant piping, Provision of electric radiant heaters and controls, Provision of new electrical service including meter center, meters, circuit breakers, panelboard, panelboard feeders, surge protective device for panelboard, branch circuiting to new heat pumps and radiant heaters, disconnects, and service light and outlet. Option item work also be included in the solicitation: installation of a central ventilation system and associated architectural, structural, plumbing, fire sprinkler, and electrical work. PROJECT LOCATION: This project is located at the Wrangell Ranger District Administrative Site at 525 Bennett Street in Wrangell, AK, approximately 80 miles northwest of Ketchikan. Wrangell is a remote community in Southeast Alaska, and is not connected to the mainland road system. It is accessible via commercial airline, Alaska Marine Highway System ferry service, and barge line. As of February 2022: commercial jet service occurs twice per day, one northbound and one southbound flight; ferry service occurs twice per week, one northbound and one southbound vessel. Contractors shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials,transportation, supplies (unless specified elsewhere as Government-furnished),and incidentals required to accomplish specified work in compliance with theterms, specifications, and provisions of the contract.
