The USDA Forest Service intends to issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for the following: The Lava River Cave Trail project involves removal and replacement of the existing perimeter fence surrounding the cave sink and replacement of the existing asphalt trail, benches, and handrails within the cave sink with a new concrete trail, benches, and handrails. The project is located 13 miles south of Bend, Oregon, near the Lava Lands Visitor Center (Deschutes County, OR). The cave is open to public use between May 1 and August 23, however NO construction work will occur while the cave is open to the public. Therefore, construction work at the site will be limited to: 08/24/2021 – 10/08/2021 for work inside the cave sink (trail and handrails) and 10/08/2021 – 10/31/2021 for fencing work outside the cave sink The magnitude of this construction project (Base and Optional Item) is between $100,000 and $250,000. A Bid Bond (20%) will be required of Offerors whose total price offer exceeds $150,000. Payment and Performance Bonds (100% each) will be required of awardee for an award greater than $150,000. The solicitation will be available for download exclusively via https://beta.sam.gov on or about 03/08/2021. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued. Note: Offerors shall have and maintain an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database to be eligible for a Government contract award. Information on registration may be obtained via: https://www.sam.gov. If at the time of award an Offeror is not actively and successfully registered in the SAM database, the Government reserves the right to award to the next prospective Offeror.
