See attachment labeled 1240BF22Q0055 Amendment 1 with the following changes in red: - Changes the requirement from Brand Name to Brand Name or Equal, that must be serviced in either Prince of Wales Island or Ketchikan, AK - Modifies RFQ salient characteristics and schedule of items ---------------------- This is a new requirement. The US Forest Service (Alaska Region) seeks to procure (1) brand name only Bobcat S740 T4 Skid-Steer, with delivery to Thorne Bay, AK. The Government intends to award one firm fixed price contract resulting from this solicitation. See attachments for additional details. Quotes are due June 14th, 2022 @ 12:00PM (AKST) Alaska Time, via email. Brand name justification: This Skid-Steer will be used in Thorne Bay, AK by Forest Service employees. Communities in SE Alaska are not connected to a traditional road system, accessible only by marine ferry or by air. Major repair and warranty work needs to be performed in a SE community as close to Thorne Bay as possible. Currently, only Bobcat brand can be serviced in SE Alaska and has a model that meets all required specifications. This brand name request (FAR 6.302-1) reduces the duplication of costs [FAR 6.303-2(b)(9)(ii)] associated with having repair work performed. Any other brand would have to be shipped to Anchorage or Seattle for warranty or major repair work.
