It is the purpose of this solicitation to secure services to mechanically thin standing live trees under 9 inches DBH, masticate ground fuels, and standing dead trees less than 10 inches DBH is a requirement of the contract (see attached Detailed Unit Information Sheet). Down woody material (logs) greater than 10 inches in diameter at the small end and standing trees greater than 10 inches DBH will be left untreated. The contractor shall avoid operations that would result in penetration of the duff layer contributing to exposure of mineral soil.
