This is a firm fixed price contract. The purpose and intent of this contract is to secure services for pre-commercial tree thinning of 1370 acres in young growth stands approximately 22 to 27 years of age. The work required by this contract consists of tree thinning, slash treatment, and related work in compliance with its terms, specifications, and provisions. Logistics, access, weather, thickness of brush, steepness of slopes, presence of slash, and density of conifer regeneration are just some of the critical items that should be examined on the ground by the Contractor. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, housing, subsistence, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals except those items listed as Government-furnished property. Due to the fairly steep and rugged terrain and limited access, methods for accomplishing this work are limited to chain saws and hand tools only.
