This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Metolius River has become low in natural log structure as a result of removal of natural logs that fell into the river. Logs are habitat for native fish such as redband trout, bull trout (listed as Threatened under ESA) and chinook salmon. This project will retore habitat to reaches of the river not previously restored. The purpose of this project is to restore habitat for fish by placing trees with branches along the riverbank. The contract will focus on moving the trees already on the ground to loading sites. The contract will also include loading and trucking the trees to the river sites to be restored.
