This is a pre-solicitation notice and not a request for quote, proposal, or invitation for bid, and as such, any additional information as to the size and/or scope of the project will not be available until the issuance of the solicitation. No award will be made from the pre-solicitation notice, nor will any proposals, quotes, or bids be accepted from this notice. Any submittal will only be accepted after the posting of the solicitation notice. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Please do not email requesting additional information until after the posting of the solicitation notice. General Information The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in or around August 1, 2024. The contract is anticipated to be awarded in September 2024. All dates are tentative and for planning purposes only. The resulting contract shall be a Firm Fixed-Price contract. The solicitation shall be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The solicitation will be a Request for Proposal (RFP). To be eligible for contract award, a firm must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Register via the SAM Internet site at https://www.sam.gov/SAM/. Project Information PROJECT TITLE: Installation of Walk-In Coolers and Slabs PROJECT LOCATION: Clayton, NC NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CODE: (NAICS): 238220 SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: $19M The anticipated magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service area office in Clayton, NC has a requirement for installation of walk-n cooler with concrete slabs. General Scope (further details will be made available with the RFQ)- The contractor shall furnish materials, labor, equipment, and supervision to install two walk-in coolers, with concrete slabs, electric service, and means to maintain drainage for stormwater. Work will include site preparation, slab construction, cooler delivery, electrical wiring, and infrastructure for drainage around slabs and adjacent buildings. Coolers are being placed on previously undeveloped land. A building is positioned between the two proposed areas of cooler placement. The building has electrical infrastructure in place and can facilitate load requirements for the 8’x14’ cooler to the south. The 16’ x 40’ cooler to the north can shall connect to the 200-amp panel from an equipment storage building. Contractor shall adhere to the American Concrete Institute guidelines and standards for concrete placement, vibration, testing, finishing, curing, hot weather, cold weather, etc. to provide the Design Mix for minimum 3500 psi. Concrete testing by a certified concrete testing laboratory shall be required.
