This is a pre-solicitation notice and not a request for quote, proposal, or invitation for bid, and as such, any additional information as to the size and/or scope of the project will not be available until the issuance of the RFQ. No award will be made from the pre-solicitation notice, nor will any proposals, quotes, or bids be accepted from this notice. Any submittal will only be accepted after the posting of the solicitation notice. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Please do not email requesting additional information until after the posting of the solicitation notice. General Information The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in or around August 1, 2024. The contract is anticipated to be awarded in September 2024. All dates are tentative and for planning purposes only. The resulting contract shall be a Firm Fixed-Price contract. The solicitation shall be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The solicitation will be a Request for Quote (RFQ). To be eligible for contract award, a firm must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Register via the SAM Internet site at https://www.sam.gov/SAM/. Project Information PROJECT TITLE: Installation of Trane Chiller PROJECT LOCATION: Poplarville, MS NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CODE: (NAICS): 238220 SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: $19M The anticipated magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service area office in Poplarville, MS has a requirement for installation of a Trane chiller. General Scope (further details will be made available with the RFQ)- The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and quality control to perform removal of an existing Train RTAF chiller and install a new properly sized air-cooled chiller (RTAF-230). The contractor shall install all necessary mechanical piping to allow for proper start-up, loop chemical balance testing, and flow balancing. The supply and return chilled water piping shall include air vents, pressure gauges w/ shutoff valves, thermometers, flow meters, isolation valves, balancing valves, relief valves and/or any other devices/materials specified in the chiller manufacturer’s installation instructions. All exposed piping is to be properly insulated and heat traced. The contractor will be responsible to perform a leak test and check for proper operation before final turnover.
