This is a pre-solicitation notice and not a request for quote, proposal, or invitation for bid, and as such, any additional information as to the size and/or scope of the project will not be available until the issuance of the RFQ. No award will be made from the pre-solicitation notice, nor will any proposals, quotes, or bids be accepted from this notice. Any submittal will only be accepted after the posting of the solicitation notice. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Please do not email requesting additional information until after the posting of the solicitation notice. General Information The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in or around August 1, 2024. The contract is anticipated to be awarded in September 2024. All dates are tentative and for planning purposes only. The resulting contract shall be a Firm Fixed-Price contract. The solicitation shall be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The solicitation will be a Request for Quote (RFQ). To be eligible for contract award, a firm must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Register via the SAM Internet site at https://www.sam.gov/SAM/. Project Information PROJECT TITLE: Installation of Grain Storage System PROJECT LOCATION: Clayton, NC NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CODE: (NAICS): 236220 SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: $45M The anticipated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service area office in Clayton, NC has a requirement for install a grain storage system. General Scope (further details will be made available with the RFQ)- The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and quality control to install a grain storage system consisting of five 523-bushel elevated storage bins constructed of galvanized, corrugated steel placed in a row and attached to a concrete slab. The work will include system design, site preparation, slab construction, material delivery, bin erection, wiring, coordination of necessary infrastructure changes with local power utility (Duke Energy). The first bin in the row shall be a “wet bin” that uses electric heating to dry grain from the field at a rate of 100 bushels per hour. The other four other bins are for grain storage, each equipped with an electric fan capable of moving air through the stored grain and a reclaim auger to load the stored grain into trucks.
