This is a pre-solicitation notice. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Research Unit located at Stoneville, Mississippi, has a requirement to Furnish and Install Pre-Engineered Steel Canopy, pour concrete column pad footings, relocate existing exterior light, relocate existing lightening protection cable, relocate existing gutters and downspouts. This project is on the East Side of Bldg. #21 at USDA Cotton Ginning Laboratory, located at 111 Experiment Station Road in Stoneville, MS. The work includes but is not limited to: The contractor shall provide all designs, materials, labor, and equipment to: Install new free-standing steel shed extension on existing cotton gin. Contractor shall provide a MS stamped and sealed design, install footings, structural steel, sway bracing, roofing, and skirt walls per approved design. Contractor will re-locate ½” diameter existing lightening protection ground cable (Cad weld), relocate existing gutter and to include (3) existing downspouts and splash pads, and re-locate (1) security light. Conceptual Drawing shown below. Contractor is responsible for submitting Detailed Engineering Stamped Shop Drawings for the Canopy for approval by USDA EPM. This project is on the East Side of Bldg. #21 at USDA Cotton Ginning Laboratory, located at 111 Experiment Station Road in Stoneville, MS. USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced contract. The solicitation is anticipated to be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 236220 with a size standard of $45.0 M. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement. During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement on about May 25, 2023. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
