The USDA ARS requires that all professional services necessary for the supply and installation of the lighting system in the three growth chambers requires installation of wiring and outlets to all growth chambers and the removal of the existing lights and analog timer at the USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Sugarcane Research Center in Schriever, LA. All work shall be performed in accordance with the terms, conditions, drawings, and specifications contained in the solicitation documents. A single organized site visit has been scheduled for Tuesday, 08/30/2022 at 10am CST. This is a pre-solicitation notice. 12405B22Q0407 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Sugarcane Research Center in Schriever, LA has a requirement for a installation of the lighting system in three growth chambers to include: All professional services necessary the supply and installation of the lighting system in the three growth chambers requires installation of wiring and outlets to all growth chambers and the removal of the existing lights and analog timer. The existing metal halide lights and ballasts need to be removed and disconnected from their analog timer and government provided LED lights installed on appropriate circuits. Each growth chamber requires five 20-amp circuits wired to outlets. Four circuits will have an electrical box each with four 120V AC outlets in the ceiling, which will supply power to the lights. The fifth circuit will have an electrical box with 4 120V AC outlets in the growth chamber wall. Each of the three growth chambers have the same electrical requirements. Electrical lines will be connected through the electrical circuit breaker box on the adjoining wall outside the room containing the growth chambers. Electric outlets will be GFI protected and have weatherproof covers to guard against potential splash effects in chambers. Panel will receive new breakers for circuits and meet all applicable codes. USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Quote for a firm fixed priced construction purchase order. The solicitation is anticipated to be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238210 with a size standard of $16.50M. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement. The magnitude of the project is estimated to be between $25,000 and $100,000. During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Quotes (RFQ). The Government anticipates issuing an RFQ for this requirement around August 22, 2022. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services. The statement of work is attached to this notice for information only. The full RFQ, applicable provisions/clauses, wage rates, etc. will be posted when the full RFQ solicitation is released around August 22, 2022.
