A2: I can get pics of name plates on the HVAC unit (if still readable) or we have some data submittal sheets from the last renovation when this equipment was installed in this lab. The new HVAC system should be somewhat different from the existing. This project is not an “in kind” replacement. That said, the existing package unit is a 2010 Trane Model# THC120E3E0A00C0A1A2B00 100 E, Serial # 946101676L. Q3: What type of insulation is acceptable above the ceiling? A3: R19 Kraft faced or better Q4: Please provide a scope of work for the fume hood. A4: The existing fume hood will remain. Q5: What is to be done with existing eyewash and shower stations? List details on how you would require the repair to the floor/ceiling be done. A5: The existing shower/eyewash unit and unused piping in Bld3-Rm3 will be terminated and replaced by the new eyewash/shower assembly with thermostatic mixing valve. A second thermostatic mixing valve should be installed in the water supply line to an existing safety shower in Rm1 (only adding valve for this one). Q6: Is an engineering drawing required? A6: Yes, I would think so Q7: What are the existing units controlled by thermostats or DDC? If DDC please provide controls contractor contact? A7: All of the existing controls will be replaced. Q8: The existing registers can be reused per SoW is it also acceptable to reuse existing ductwork/ flex to accommodate the new HVAC unit and exhaust system install? A8: All duct work for the HVAC unit shall be replaced (old ducts removed). The existing fume hood duct/stack will be reused. Q9: Project schedule states 90 days. Hot gas reheat RTUs have a lead time of over 90 days. Does this 90-day period start when construction begins? And after the RTU arrives? A9: The time frame listed in the solicitation would be what we would like. This time frame is maliable. It will be addressed when the contract is written. I would expect that the project would be able to be completed after the product has been delivered. Q10: Please specify what conduit and piping are related to the greenhouse. The contractor needs more information. Footages? Underground? A10: There are 3 steel water pipes (~1 - 1.5” from old boiler system) and 4 electrical conduits (~3/4) to be removed from above the ceiling. The old lines are no longer used and should be removed from this lab. The total run of these lines is estimated to be about 50 ft.
