The work consists of but is not limited to: The contractor shall provide all professional services necessary to remove or cap existing cabinetry (e.g., benches, shelving, plumbing) in two labs, including asbestos counters, and replace these items with new casework (e.g., cabinets, benches, counters, shelves, countertops for sensitive instrumentation). Proposal MUST be received not later than 3:00 p.m. COB, September 21, 2020. Please include a detailed breakdown of price with various cost elements (e.g. materials, sub-costs, labor, etc.) Additional proposal instructions can be found in Section L. All questions pertaining to this solicitation, including questions that arise during the site visit, must be submitted to Huron Virden, huron.virden@usda.gov within 3 days following the site visit. Questions that are not submitted in writing or that are not submitted within 3 days of the site visit may not receive a response. Questions/answers discussed at the site visit will not be binding on the resultant contract unless submitted in writing and incorporated into the solicitation by amendment.

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Chemistry Research Unit in Gainesville, FL., has a requirement to update two laboratories, to accommodate the scientist research. The work consists of but is not limited to: The contractor shall provide all professional services necessary to remove or cap existing cabinetry (e.g., benches, shelving, plumbing) in two labs, including asbestos counters, and replace these items with new casework (e.g., cabinets, benches, counters, shelves, countertops for sensitive instrumentation). USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced construction contract. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement. During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement on about Aug 26, 2020. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
