The work to be done consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work in strict accordance with the specifications. The intent is to demolish the greenhouse down to its structural framing, knee wall, and foundation and provide new polycarbonate glazing, side wall and ridge ventilation, heating, cooling, and lighting/power/control systems as indicated on the drawings. A single organized site visit has been scheduled for Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Central Time. Participants will meet at: USDA ARS SEA Jamie Whitten Delta States Research Center (JWDSRC) 141 Experiment Station Road Stoneville. MS 38776 Pre-registration to attend the site visit is required no later than August 10, 2020 by email notification to Huron Virden, huron.virden@usda.gov, . Provide names of personnel to be in attendance. Wearing of face masks and practicing of appropriate social distancing is required at the site visit Proposal MUST be received not later than 3:00 p.m. COB, August 31, 2020. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Jamie Whitten Delta States Research Center (JWDSRC) in Stoneville, MS., has a requirement to Renovate Building #7 Greenhouse #2. The work to be done consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work in strict accordance with the specifications. USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced construction contract. The solicitation is anticipated to be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 236220 with a size standard of$39.5M. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement. During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement in July 2020. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
