This Sources Sought announcement is a request for information to be used for preliminary market research information and planning purposes only. This is NOT a solicitation and No proposals are being requested or accepted. No contract will be awarded from this notice. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this notice. Market research is being performed to determine the best method to advertise the Government's needs. Responses received will determine they type of solicitation to issue. The Government reserves the right to cancel this sources sought. The USDA, ARS, SEA anticipate awarding a contract to modify an existing alarm system by adding additional security and monitoring on 8 perimeter doors on buildings located on North Carolina State property. Under an existing agreement between North Carolina State and the USDA-ARS, NC State maintains and monitors the alarm system on all building occupied by the USDA-ARS. North Carolina State is the only source for satisfying this requirement as they are the only qualified and authorized source to make any modifications or changes to the existing security system infrastructure. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of interested parties. In order to determine the extent of industry interest and capability, interested parties must submit by e-mail to Huron Virden, huron.virden@usda.gov.
