This is a pre-solicitation notice. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Coastal Plain Soil, Water and Plant Research Center in Florence, SC has a requirement for the construction of a new greenhouse. The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment necessary to accomplish the requirements. USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced construction contract. The solicitation is anticipated to be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5M. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement. During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement in June 2020. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
