USDA Agriculture Research Service requires procurement of one Multi Crop Shredder for a research project on residue management in irrigated corn-based cropping systems in the northern Great Plains. The equipment will support research conducted in Sidney, MT, aimed at helping farmers achieve better planting results and yields following grain corn. The shredder must lift fallen corn residue and shred it to a size that facilitates tillage and promotes residue decomposition in a semi-arid area with cold, dry winters.
