Cowboy Hat Stewardship IRSC - Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit
This USDA Forest Service Sources Sought/RFI is for market research and seeks capability statements from vendors able to perform forest thinning and vegetation treatments in Caldor Fire-burned areas to reduce hazardous fuels and support forest reestablishment. Anticipated work covers about 205 acres in three units and requires Cut-to-Length harvesting plus mastication, slash/biomass removal, temporary road construction/decommissioning, road maintenance and erosion control, and possible hand thinning and piling. Performance is expected to begin in early Summer 2027 with a completion deadline of 9/15/2027 tied to grant funding expiration. The project is on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit near the CA-89/US-50 intersection, approximately 0.5 miles southeast, in South Lake Tahoe, CA. An organized site visit is planned for November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
