End of the World Long Term Stewardship
The U.S. Forest Service is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for a potential 10-year integrated resource stewardship contract in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, primarily targeting the End of the World planning area. The objectives are to reduce risks from insects, disease, and wildfire while improving forest vegetation and water quality across approximately 17,000 gross acres, with an anticipated offering of over 50 million board feet of commercial timber. The scope of service work may include timber removal, road maintenance/construction, biomass removal, and various restoration treatments. The contract would involve payment for services, with timber value offsetting service costs, and would require Davis-Bacon and Service Contract Act wages. This RFI seeks industry feedback to inform future solicitations and no contract will be awarded from this request.
