Leave Tree Marking The project area is located on the Davy Crockett Ranger District. The treatment area is in the south group thinning project area consisting of 505 acres of first thinning plantations within compartments 97, 98, 100-104 and 107. Units in the south group thinning project are to be determined and maps will be provided when work begins on the contract. Units will be marked in orange tracer paint with full wrap breast mark and 2 stump marks. Some units will have visual quality requirements where directional marking and increases in basal area retained is necessary. Project Area: All of these areas are accessible by vehicle or by foot and are generally level slope with an elevation of about 300 feet.
