The contractor shall perform road maintenance blading that will result in the proper mix of aggregates and fines to maintain aggregates on the road way, the elimination of ruts and potholes, maintenance and functionality of ditch-lines and water diversion structures, and removal of rocks, limbs and other debris from the road prism including ditches, while preserving vegetation that serves to prevent or moderate erosion from runoff. Roadside brushing is removing vegetation within the roadway clearing limits. The services covered in this contract include the furnishing of all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform road maintenance blading on roads specified herein, in compliance with the terms, specifications, conditions, and provisions of this contract. Description of Work. Blading: Location for performance is on the Red River Ranger District on the Nez Perce - Clearwater National Forests. The specific roads to be bladed are listed. Standard industry practice indicates use of a motor grader with a moldboard blade and scarified to effectively perform this type of work. Some roads or road segments may require scarification in conjunction with blading in order to cut out washboards and potholes. The use of water trucks may be required as needed during dry conditions. Brushing: Location for performance is on the Red River Ranger District on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The specific roads to be brushed are listed.
