(CRI) on a sole... The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), National Agricultural Library (NAL), intends to issue an award to Communications Resource, Inc. (CRI) on a sole source basis for the Installation of Additional Card Readers. Award will be made pursuant to FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(I)(A), an urgent and compelling need exists, and following order procedures will result in unacceptable delays. CRI is familiar with NAL LENEL Card Reader System mandated at the facility and currently provides maintenance support to the system, which will expedite the installation process and limit the downtime for the physical security system. Using CRI will keep NAL on schedule with the proposed timeline for USDA One Neighborhood Project. Additionally, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, NAL has limited the risk level by restricting the entry of new and unfamiliar contractors inside of the building. The anticipated Period of Performance is 180 days from award. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not be construed as a commitment by the Vendors that believe they can provide the services listed above are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified Point of Contact. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. The Point of Contact for this action is Angela B.
