The US Forest Service, National Technology and Development Program (NTDP), wildland fire chemical program has as a need to procure a Mass Loss Calorimeter (MLC). This instrument is necessary for developmental testing of an alternative burn test procedure. The instrument can analyze and recording results of mass loss, temperature, heat release rate, and can accommodate other adaptations for thermocouples to record additional variables for evaluation and method development. This testing would be developed in accordance with ASTM E2102.
