The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price, sole source contract to GrowSafe Systems Ltd, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The USDA, ARS, Animal Genomics and Improvement Laboratory (AGIL), requires annual support and maintenance for 47 GrowSafe 8000-series feeding nodes, as well as a license for the use of the Feed Intake Software, including any available enhancements. This technology is further covered under US patents # 6,427,627 and 6,497,197 held by GrowSafe. Therefore, there are no other suppliers to maintain, calibrate, and repair the system, or provide licenses for the Feed Intake Software. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. No telephonic inquires will be honored. The Government will not reimburse interested parties for any expenses related to responding to the Notice of Intent. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This will be the only notice of the Government's intent to solicit, negotiate, and award to one source to satisfy this requirement. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is searching for firms who can provide support and maintenance of GrowSafe 8000-series feeding nodes in use at BARC dairy facilities. Support and maintenance consist of Remote Assist Analytics Package + Enhancements and Remote Assist Warranty and System Support. As part of its market research, USDA ARS is issuing this Sources Sought notice to determine if there exist an adequate number of qualified interested contractors capable of providing the requirement. The Government may use the responses to this Sources Sought for information and planning purposes. No Request for Quote (RFQ) exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the RFQ. Responses to this Sources Sought are not quotes on which USDA ARS can issue any contract. This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not itself constitute an RFQ. The Government does not intend to make an award based on responses to this inquiry. All information received in response to this Sources Sought notice marked ""Proprietary"" will be protected and handled accordingly.
