Product USDA is in need of a small screw press that that replicates the process of a large-scale screw press currently owned by USDA in order to do pilot-scale research of larger equipment processes. Due to the need to replicate the liquid/solid separation process of the larger equipment, it is critical that the screw press supplied be manufactured in a specific way, designated by the salient characteristics below. Contractor Supplier (Vendor) Market research has shown that a Vincent Model CP-4 or its equal would meet the salient characteristics below. Required Salient Characteristics Capability: A small scale screw press, capable of 1-2 gallons per minute that replicates the process of a large-scale screw press currently owned by USDA. Compression Screw: A screw with four stages of compression, achieved by interrupted, reducing pitch flights. Screen: Single piece stainless steel screen, made with a wedgewire screen with 0.016" slots. It must have stationary resistor teeth to prevent co-rotation. Air Pressure Controlled Discharge Cone: A self-adjusting discharge cone that controls the moisture content of the press cake that is actuated by an air cylinder. An air regulator and cone opening valve should be included. Motor: A motor that is a minimum of 1.0 hp, that is VFD, and accepts a 110 volt single phase power supply, that is included to drive the motor. Desired Salient Characteristics Drive: The main drive should be a direct coupled hollow-bore gearbox. Pre-Wired: Includes an electrical cable from the motor to the VFD, with the cable from the VFD having a normal wall plug to allow for ‘plug and play’ application.
