The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price, sole source service contract to Thermal Electron North America LLC in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), for a support and instrument maintenance contract for its Easy-nLC II/TSQ Vantage LC-MS system for USDA-ARS, RW Holley Center for Agriculture/Health. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, and the size standard is 1000. The Easy-nLC II/TSQ Vantage LC-MS System and all of its components were designed by Thermo Electron and incorporate many features unique to these instruments that are based on proprietary knowledge that is the intellectual property of Thermo Electron. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. No telephonic inquires will be honored. The Government will not reimburse interested parties for any expenses related to responding to the Notice of Intent. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This will be the only notice of the Government's intent to solicit, negotiate, and award to one source to satisfy this requirement.
