The intent of this solicitatin and any resulting contract is to conduct treatment of midstory American beech, striped maple and black birch on 144 acres within the Allegheny National Forest. Treatments will be conducted using protocols established by the U.S. Forest Service. The treatment consists of felling American beech, black birch and striped maple stems that are in the 4-10 inch DBH (diameter at breast height = 4.5 feet up from the ground) range and subsequently applying herbicide to the stumps using contractor furnished equipment.
