The purpose of this contract is to perform insecticide treatments on hemlock and ash trees in order to ensure their ability to survive infestation by the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA. The contract areas are located in: Developed recreation, administrative, and conservation areas on the Allegheny National Forest; Watersheds on the Finger Lakes National Forest, which include treatment areas near ravines, and to a lesser extent, upland forests; and Developed recreation areas, administrative sites and Hemlock Conservation Areas on the Monongahela National Forest. The preferred treatment method for all areas is coretect tablets if possible. The dinotefuran option is included so that we can use that if there any problems applying coretect that would not follow label directions or else if a tree is in dire need of treatment immediately (the dino is faster acting).
