SCOPE OF WORK The awarded contract is for commercial timber harvest unit layout, boundary painting, data collection using GPS, tree marking services, and cruising located on the Newport/Sullivan Lake Ranger Districts, with the majority of work being commercial timber harvest unit layout. The end results required under this contract is to layout harvest units, paint harvest unit boundaries, GPS, mark trees following silvicultural prescriptions, and cruising in harvest units to the standards included herein and to the standards stated in the Timber Cruising Handbook (FSH 2409.12) chapter 50, Area Determination, Timber Cruising Handbook (FSH 2409.12), layout specifications guide, boundary marking guide and in the Government's Quality Control Plan. PROJECT LOCATION Work will be located on the Newport/Sullivan Lake Ranger Districts of Colville National Forest. The anticipated location of work will be in the Ione Project Area. The project area covers approximately 32,000 acres with approximately 10,900 acres being treated within the Selkirk Mountain Range of northeastern Washington, northwest of Ione, Washington. Elevations in the project area range from approximately 2,000 feet on the lower Pend Oreille River to approximately 6,000 feet at the top of Baldy Mountain. Slopes in the area range from 0 to 75 percent, with an average slope of less than 50 percent. The solicitation will be posted around May 15th 2019. The desired start of work is soon after contract award. Funding is not available right now. The Government reserves the right to cancel the Solicitation at any time.
