SCOPE OF CONTRACT: The project work includes, but is not limited to: installing and removing traffic control devices, clearing, grubbing, excavation, culvert removal / disposal, placing geotextiles, hauling and placing base and surface course materials as well as riprap, installing a culvert, and seeding & mulching. PROJECT LOCATION: Washington State (Snohomish County). Coordinates: T30N, R11E, Sec10 Lat 48°06'03"N Long 121°22'44"W. Directions: From the Darrington Ranger District office travel East on State Hwy 20 (Moore St) for 16.3 miles. Continue Straight onto Mountain Loop Highway for 15.8 miles. Turn left onto FSR 49 (Sloan Creek Rd) and continue for 0.6 miles to the project site. A district map showing the road system is available for viewing at the district office. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: Between $25,000 and $100,000. CONTRACT TYPE: Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Construction APPLICABLE WAGE DETERMINATION: Davis-Bacon Act CONTRACT TIMING AND RESTRICTIONS: Noise restriction will be in place from April 1 to September 23. Work activities above 92 decibels shall occur between 2 hours after sunrise and 2 hours before sunset. Road Closures: Any activities requiring road closure shall be part of a Traffic Control Plan. For minor work the Contractor is authorized to close the roadway for up to 1 hour at a time. Major work may require the Contractor to close the roadway for two, 5-day increments on consecutive weeks from Monday at 8:00 AM through Friday at 5:00 PM. Road closures for major work must occur between August 19 and October 11. The roadway must be passable by the public in typical highway vehicles (without delay) on the weekend between these closures from Friday 5:00 PM until Monday 8:00 AM. PROJECT'S PHYSICAL DATA: Weather Conditions varies by season; Rainfall is less during summer months than winter months; Site is typically snowed out from late fall through early spring; Road Access is good; From Darrington the road is initially paved but transitions into gravel surface, yet is relatively easy access; From Granite Falls the road is initially paved but transitions into gravel surface with very narrow traveled way and sharp corners. Not preferred path for larger equipment; Contractors are advised to visit the project prior to submitting a quote; Elevation ~1,600'. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY (GFP): 18" culvert and bedding material. PERFORMANCE BOND / ALTERNATE FORM OF SECURITY: Is required for all contracts awarded between $35,000 and $150,000.
