The Olympic National Forest, Washington, intends to acquire by contract services for wildlife snag creation. Estimated quantity is: (1) Saw-topping, 90 trees; (2) High-girdling, 90 trees; and (3) Low-girdling, 90 trees. Project area is in the Sitkum River watershed east of Forks, Washington. Period for performance is from July 16, 2020, to October 31, 2020. Between July 16th and September 23rd operations will not occur within two hours of sunrise or sunset in some of the units. Project Manager is Ms. Karen Holtrop, 360-765-2206. The government will proceed to issue a solicitation as a Request for Quotes (RFQ), under FAR Part 13. This acquisition is 100 percent set-aside for small business concerns. Quoters will be evaluated on price, experience, and past performance. The Forest Service intends to award one contract. Contract award will be to the quoter whose quote, conforming to the solicitation, is the best value to the government. Service Contract Labor Standards (formerly known as the Service Contract Act of 1965) wage rates apply to any resulting contract. The proposed contract-type is fixed price.
