Work includes stream restoration, which is designed to restore the diversity of aquatic habitat by increasing the structural complexity and the natural functions of stream channels and floodplains. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, operating supplies, supervision, repairs and support functions required to perform all work within the specifications. The stream restoration work may include, but is not limited to: •Recruiting, manipulating and placing large wood and off-site boulders into streams, •line-pulling and/or pushing over standing trees, •falling hazard trees/snags, •yarding downed wood into stream structures, •pushing over standing trees with roots attached, •extracting, hauling and moving whole trees and boulders, •configuring wood in stream structures, •moving on-site boulders and placing large stream substrate to protect eroding banks and ballast ends of logs in stream structures, •reshaping the morphology of a floodplain by redistributing substrate materials, •extracting, bucking, loading and hauling trees to staging sites, •transporting and placing spawning gravels instream, •transplanting existing native vegetation on floodplains and banks, •redistribution of Stream Bed Material, •decompacting/subsoiling access routes to project areas, & •providing traffic control.
