THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability for potential sources prior to determining the method of procurement. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis and no contract shall be awarded. A solicitation for quotes may be issued at a later date. All businesses are encouraged to respond. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. The USDA Forest Service requires that Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) successfully complete the Commercial Building Inspector 2018 B2 Certification exam in order to administer Building contracts. Therefor, The Forest Service is conducting market research to determine which procurement tool would be best suited for the requirement. The Commercial Building Inspector Certification Training shall cover the topics of the exam in detail and provide review questions to test knowledge and assist personnel with taking the B2 – Commercial Building Inspector Certification exam. The training shall cover the 2018 International Building Code and shall include the following topics: General Administration Building Planning Footings and Special Foundations Floor Construction Wall Construction and Coverings Roof/Ceiling Construction Public Safety and Special Construction Contractor shall provide the following as part of the training Specialized Instructors, who are practitioners in the field. I-Codes and Certification Study Skills Workbooks Required Reference Materials: 2018 International Building Code ACI 318-14 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary Concrete Manual Government furnished Items: USDA Forest Service will provide the following: • Training Room – Classroom style seating • Audio Visual – Projection screen and projector Location of training: Training locations may vary throughout Oregon and Washington. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned will be 611699 or 611310 If Solicited, Interested parties must be registered in the system for award management to be considered for any award. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses or procured through full and open competition. If your organization has the capability to perform these services, please provide information for the questions below. Include any documentation supporting claims of organizational and instructor capability. 1) Organization name, address, email address, Web site address, telephone number. 2) Capability statement addressing the particulars of this effort. 3) Provide services consistent in scope and scale with those described in this notice. 4) If applicable, revise the training as necessary, to align to standard commercial practices while fulfilling the needs of the Government.
