BACKGROUND The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests encompasses three primary travelways that are packed with history and modern-day recreational adventure. These routes are the Magruder Corridor, (Forest Service Road (FSR) #468), The Elk City Wagon Road (FSR #263), and the Lolo Motorway (FSR #500). The routes along with other lesser known locations will be the focus of the Electronic Tour Site installations. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests (NPCNF) has need for pre-assembly, installation and maintenance of routers, kiosk structures, solar components and associated hardware and software for both newly installed and existing Electronic Tour Sites as described below. Definitions/Explanations: Electronic Tour Site (ETS): Defined as a digital kiosk unit where visitors can view multimedia on their smart device without a network or internet connection. Digital Kiosk: A self-contained unit that does not connect to a network or the internet. Via router, a digital kiosk emits a “Wi-Fi” signal where visitors connect their smart device and view multimedia content. Components of a digital kiosk include a router, USB drive with a coding template, solar panel, charge controller, DC converter, battery, electrical cords and wiring, and enclosure box. ETS Installation: Post content editing, pre-assemble ETS components into a digital kiosk, and install in remote backcountry road/areas or listed community areas. ETS Maintenance: Electronic Tour Site maintenance is defined as checking each location Site every year (preferably), and conduct maintenance on a case by case basis to fix malfunctioning or damaged Electronic Tour Sites. ETS Content Editing: Using a code/language template (provided) customize/edit code content on USB drives for Electronic Tour Site. Scope of Work/Description of Services The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, personnel, transportation, equipment, and supplies for the Electronic Tour Site installation. This work includes: Set up power sources to power digital kiosks at Electronic Tour Sites, including solar and electrical installation. Maintenance at Electronic Tour Site of digital kiosks, structures, and hardware components. Content editing services at locations across the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Any exceptions will be specified separately. Maintenance Visit each Electronic Tour Site annually. Check Site for damage, necessary repairs, replace hardware as needed. User Experience: Check the functionality and view-ability of content. Upload new USB Drive with new/additional content. Location Descriptions Electronic Tour Sites to be installed/maintained include thirty (30) locations across the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests.
